This is never going anywhere, even my dead grandpa is sick of this at this point. Russia wont budge, Ukraine wont budge, west wont allow deep strikes and there we have it. It will run for as long as it can.
Russia has been wanting peace talks from the beginning. They just want all their demands met and then they will have peace for 5 years while they rebuild and then they’ll invade again. Until they abandon their goals and return to their own lands there won’t be peace
Leave the country, return any and all Ukrainians, and return the occupied land.

There’s no talks.
Russia invaded, Russia must leave Ukraine entirely. Russia must pay restitution. Russia must hand over its war criminals including the head criminal, Putin. That’s it. Anything else is simply a pause of the war for Putin to regroup, rearm, reinvade.

This is, of course, complete horseshit. Ukraine was not ready to sign – those talks went nowhere because Russia’s demands at the time were wholly unacceptable in that they amounted to surrender with extra steps. It doesn’t sound like their demands have changed.

Notice the uptick in confusing messaging as of late? “Kremlin ready to support Harris”, “Kremlin warns about underestimation of its red lines”, “Kremlin doesn’t want to negotiate”, “Kremlin is willing to negotiate”.
This is the standard word salad to seed the weak Western political establishment even further, before US elections. “Look, Putin is ready to talk, we better stop enabling Ukraine”, “Look, Putin supports Harris – vote Trump”, “Look, Moscow is serious about red lines, Ukraine needs to de-escalate”.
They’ve been playing the West for years now and the Western political establishment, as a collective, is too stupid to start recognizing these patterns. And it’s not like Moscow is really good at it, it’s just that Western leadership doesn’t really understand Russia, its motivations, or the way it handles business. The inability to listen to Ukrainian and Eastern European voices on this reeks of its own flavor of imperialist mentality, where all of these places were just territories belonging to the “grown ups” and major powers, without their own will or agency.
Putin is only offering talks because he’s struggling to keep going. Any peace treaty he makes is worthless.

The last poll I found, claimed that 55% of Ukrainians are against giving up any land to Russia. But 32% are willing to make some concessions for a quick end of the war.
