  1. Piss could come out of my eyes, doesn’t mean its likely to happen

  2. Looks like it’s Germany’s turn to push for desperate policies in an attempt to win the next election! It didn’t work for the Tories but surely it’ll work for SDP, FDP, and the Greens, right, right?

  3. I hope this happens. Solely to see the mental gymnastics of people who have spent the last 8 years lecturing us all on how tolerant, progressive and forward thinking people on the continent are when it comes to immigration.

I think they’re all in for a shock over the coming decade.

  4. Amazing how this Rwanda dream comes to life whenever a desperate politician needs a headline.

Rwanda are pissing themselves. They could pull this trick off for decades. Just keep selling the same immigrant homes over and over…there’s zero chance anyone will ever end up in them!

    >commissioner Joachim Stamp discussed the possibility of deporting [migrants](https://www.dw.com/en/migration/t-41577210) to Rwanda if there were difficulties returning them to their homelands.

So, Germany is talking about people whose assylum claim has been denied?

As opossed to how UK talked about ALL assylum seekers?

  6. The lefty hand wringers would have everybody in the country.

  7. The title doesn’t make sense. The UK is not paying for it at all lol

  8. The EU won’t let them do it. It was the European court of human rights that kept blocking us. If they want to do it they would have to leave the eu

  9. I’m sure this will put down the AfD threat, working so well for the Tories

  10. Is this like some kind of Nigerian prince scam for high-level politics? Really starting to look like it.

  11. They could also elect a far right government the way things are going. To be fair EU coordination is needed on this and offshore processing is not a terrible idea. The UK we have made an absolute mess of processing claimants it would be safer if they didn’t get lost in the system over here. Like the rapist they couldn’t deport because in his country he would be put to death.

  12. The right is becoming more mainstream across Europe, the mood has shifted, France is perhaps the outlier in this regard more so than us seeing as Reform made larger vote share gains here than the Le Pen party did in France.

I’ve often said we’re an election away from having a legitimate anti immigration, right wing government taking power, the 2020s appears to be a shift where liberal attitudes in terms of immigration of the 2010s are becoming less popular

  13. A pure display of “far-right thuggary” according to our supreme leader.

  14. If Germany got this deal done and working I would laugh so hard 😂

  15. The thing is – Sunak was right that having a deterrent is the only real way to stop the boats.

I don’t think anything else will work.

There’s also a reason that these people are paying 10K for a dodgy boat instead of a plane ticket to Gatwick. And that’s because there’s a whole infrastructure ready to sort them out if they arrive by boat.

At present, we literally collect them from half way across the channel, take them ashore, send them off to hotels and effectively start the asylum process *for them*, aided by a whole bunch of charities and NGOs supporting them in the legal process.

These people aren’t stupid. We’re basically inviting the boats.

  16. A lot of the money went to buffing up and guaranteeing the legality and safety of migrants going into Rwanda. Germans are playing a blinder by effectively allowing Britain to pay for that setup cost and then piggyback onto it for minimal costs.

It was an eye-watering amount and initially not worth it, but Labour just outright scrapping it is also bad business.

  17. The UN has been doing it for a while for refugees from West Africa!

  18. There should be a inquiry to why the uk government wasted so much money on this plan in the first place

  19. Its going to be funny as europe gets more and more hardline on immigration both legal and illegal which will be enacted by mainstream parties how much the Overton window will shift where mainstream news/liberal commentators will then cheer on schemes like this in the future with a different label on it.

  20. If immigrants come to the west they should live in western people. When western people go to their home countries, they also comply by that country’s customs so why can’t immigrants do that? We can all live together if people don’t act like cunts

  21. Considering the ECHR I think this will be as much of a problem for them as it was for us..
