I hate things like this. So much is left out. Bills are rarely just one thing like a tax cut, usually they are filled with 60 other things that you might find disagreeable so you vote no, and then some midwit can come along and call you evil for voting no on this un-objectively good thing.

A recent large scale rct in the us shows that giving money unconditionally to the poor does not improve their lives e.g. health, labor, etc. It is in fact not that simple and something more structural should be fixed.
Poverty is a direct result of not having enough. Just give them more and they are now magically not impoverished.
This should make sense even from a capitalist perspective. “Why is capitalism so good? Cause’ it uplifts people above the poverty line because they have more wealth than before.” So the answer is more wealth given to more people and Capitalism (to them) is the mechanism to do so.
So giving people wealth is how it does it. So give them wealth.
The government doesn’t care. They get tax dollars no matter what

It’s called supply and demand. Look at college with unlimited loans. Well, that’s why’s it’s $750 per credit hour now. Anyone can get a loan for $30,000 a year. Lmao.
Why not just change the definition of poverty again?
