
It is NOT officially a valid ID. Not in Norway, and especially not abroad. Vegvesen is very clear about this. Please bring something valid like a passport, physical driver license or Norwegian identity card. (Even if you're just going to your next door neighbouring country.)

If you’re traveling outside the Nordic countries _only_ passport and national ID card is valid ID. Norwegian driver’s license, be it physical or digital, is not valid ID outside the Nordic countries.
I would also like to specify that digitalt førerkort is not valid ID when you buy tobacco or alcohol in grocery stores. And dont get angry at the cashier when they dont let you buy your epok. Its your job to prove that youre old enough, even if you wrongly believe you look like youre old enough
Is this then just for driving without a physical license card in Norway?
