What a load of bull crap. Compare it with dogs, if a dog displays aggressive behavior we do not tolerate this. A dog does not need to channel its aggressiveness. The best is to suppress any signs of aggressive behavior as fast as possible. And if a dog isn’t allowed to be aggressive, it doesn’t become a criminal or something else.

De grootste hoop onzin die ik in lange tijd heb gelezen. De meerderheid van de supporters zijn braaf maar er zit ook zwaar krapuul tussen. Niets met frustraties te maken, gewoon mensen die vrolijk zwaaien naar de trein der beschaving terwijl ze anderen de kop inslaan.

If we follow his reasoning, we should never punish anyone for any violent acts cause “they can’t help it”.
For some bizarre reason, we are barely punishing hooligans already, cause it’s apparently “part of the charm of the sport” or something? So if we prevent hooligans being violent as part of their “fandom”, they might be violent somewhere else, but at least then they might get prosecuted.
Clubs are also not even trying to curb the issue. Why aren’t they banning hooligans from the stadium, like they did in England? That competition went from full scale warfare each match, to complete stadium safety in a few years….
Also, the not so vague threat if we don’t allow hooligans to wreck cities and each other, they might become violent at home, is the most disgusting of all. Does he really believe hooligans are nice husbands to their wives or something? I’m going to guess there’s a pretty big correlation between hooliganism and abuse at home.
If they want to express their aggression, there are plenty of sports in which that’s permitted. If that’s not enough, I’m all for throwing them in a pit to let them beat each other to pulp, provided they pay for their own medical expenses. Perhaps they can be sponsored by televising the fight. If we let them fight long and hard enough, evolution should take care of the rest…
Why not have a fight in the stadium like old times? You have medical personnel on standby and everything can happen in a controlled environment with no damage to public property. /s but maybe not /s?
