Such a dumb issue. Child tax credits just end up with daycare centers raising costs because they know the money is there. Of course both parties pander to parents every election season. No surprise the media is pushing this issue right now and giving us a bunch of useless sound bites from both candidates.

Well……I guess…..Trump doesn’t have a plan to help with child care costs.
the issue really isn’t about child care costs, having put my kid through several different child care places what I found is that the quality of the care varies vastly from place to place.. the more educated a child care representative is meaning if they are certified, have a degree, etc. those places are typically more expensive then say a mom and pop start-up that gets a license from the state just so they can make money and put your kid in a locked room with no activities.. the real issue for me is that we have to crack down on child care establishments that are just in it to capture a quick buck and offer no real value for the child’s education and social interactions.. I don’t mind paying for good child care, what I do mind was paying a premium for terrible care..

You won’t like this, but the explicitly stated desire to take care of our people – including our children – is more progressive a position and ideology than anything democrats intend.
Points of fact –
The largest ever decrease in child poverty was under Trump, as the result of child tax credits in the CARES act.
Those credits were allowed to lapse under Joe Biden and full dem control of both houses of congress, resulting in the largest ever increase in child poverty.
And another reminder about Trump’s progressive tendencies. Dude is not an ideologue; this is a Sandernista position that the dem party apparatus opposes in full.
