1. China highest producer of EVs
2. China has a higher rate of urbanization compared to some regions and many of its major cities face severe pollution problems.
3. Tariffs war V USA and the EU
That is very nice. maybe next time make it as a share of total vehicules? or per capita
China has made a very large move away from coal and toward sustainable energy. It’s great. The coal industry thought it could continue in perpetuity because of China.
And likely more coal generated electricity than the US and EU combined.
Awful stat, needs to be % of population that owns an ev
Are you 12?
Ill buy a byd over tesla all day if its starting price is $25k, but govt wants to put 100% taxes on it, making it unaffordable so they can protect Elon’s wealth.
That’s because China’s EVs are $12,000. US automakers need to get their shit together…
You have to divide those numbers by the numbers of drivers to get comparable metrics
Babe, wake up, the latest propaganda post that has nothing to do with economics has dropped.
How about you calculate it per person or as a percentage of cars. That would make more sense
America has more guns. Who is winning now?
Hey Op, any thoughts on the
##1989 Tiananmen Square protests and massacre (1989 年天安门广场抗议和屠杀)
?
Yet another completely useless graph that by itself, conveys nothing of value.
Get rid of SUVs then.
China has a ton of cheap EVs on the road because they don’t have multi-ton SUVs everywhere.
If one of those cheap EVs got hit by the avg American SUV the occupants would die. It’d be like getting hit on a motorcycle only with more steel to push into your guts.
You can’t have cheap cars on the road with these massive beasts.
My guess is self driving cars (Waymo, not anything Tesla built) are going to take over transportation anyway. Increasing high costs for cars is going to drive most people out of car ownership.
Like the dystopian articles said, “You’ll own nothing *and like it*”
How many of the Chinese cars are glorified golf carts that wouldn’t ever make it on a US interstate highway with the big rigs?
It’s so strange to be the things China feels the need to brag about. Imagine prioritizing brags like this instead of making your country the thing you pretend to be. They think they could lead the world but everything of theirs is stolen. They all have to know that deep down.
And they burn 70% more coal than both combined too.
Would be nice if we had competition like the space race but for other modern technologies, like we used to. Competition spurs innovation and progress
50% sales share in July. 51% in August.
The US is nowhere near ready to even get half of that. We haven’t made buy upgrades or build out of our own grid which is currently being strained due to inaction on infrastructure. We have utility companies and government telling people to join together to turn off lights and appliances because of their inaction and refusal to spend money on this.
China has more inhabitants than USA and Europe combined
Yeah and their EV’s are actually affordable and they sell some under $10,000 I think. Not in America.
Biden/Harris have failed us miserably
Other things are worth considering here.
Energy doesn’t just magically come from cables in the ground, and these cars need lots of electricity to run. How is that electricity generated in each country?
Distance of travel, most drivers in Europe and China have more shorter commutes than drivers in the US, as such, vehicle needs differ. An EV that needs to be charged every 100 miles might not make sense for someone who drives several hundred in a week.
Population, as another user pointed out. This should be measured as a ratio of EVs to total vehicles. This is the same as saying China has 10 times the number of infant mortality as the US (didn’t check this, this is purely hypothetical) without accounting for large differences in population between the countries.
The scales look great….
>Note: Electric cars include fully battery-electric vehicles and **plug-in hybrids.**

Not surprised, the US is in terminal decline
Taiwan number one
Was this forced?
China has twice the population of the US and EU combined
Just putting this out there because it matters. Avg car is driven 7,200 miles a year in china and 14,449 in the US. That little fact keeps many from even thinking electric.
China is gonna eat America’s lunch. This time no bailout will save the Auto manufacturers in US or even Europe. We will see bankruptcies before the end of decade.
It’s very easy to force change when you don’t respect basic human rights…

Solution? Elon and Trump are the only way to turn this around now.
