Why are they scrambling? Republicans have a long held belief that school shootings are a fact of life. Apathetically shrugging it off is literally their position.
Possibly the dumbest and blatantly not empathetic answer any politician can give and to boot – it definitely is not what the American people want to hear. They want to hear what you plan to do to stop it. Moron.

I’m ordinarily skeptical of Republican gaffes being poll-movers, due to the legacy media’s incessant normalizing of them, but this one feels different to me. It’s an easy soundbite straight from Vance’s mouth. That’s going to be very, very hard to spin away. The Democrats don’t even need to comment — Vance’s tongue speaks for itself.

Sigh. I read “scrambles” and assume, naively, that the team realizes this is bad, and is making an effort at damage control or putting together follow up statements for the candidate to make to try and make it less-bad.
Instead, “scrambles” just means attacking Harris by gaslighting and shrieking about “fake news”.
Children have to go outside and play, it’s called recess and it’s an integral part of school so there are no “hardened” schools safe from gun violence. Most schools are surrounded by chain link fences.
The GOP solution is to make schools into prisons.

There’s no way to shake this or spin this. He’s calling a 14 year old a psycho, and he’s saying it’s a fact of life that other psychos like him will get guns and go in to schools to kill people, and this is the reality we live in and although he doesn’t want it, THE ONLY thing he can think of is increasing security at schools. He really does call mass school shootings a fact of life. Not a fact in America. A fact of life. That is absurd to anyone who has been out of the U.S.
The U.S is sick because the GOP is sick and getting sicker. Everyone should rally around Kamala and then split into smaller factions depending on what your beliefs are. There is room for actual conservative voices in Kamala’s cabinet. Not whatever this shit is.
U.S. has to collectively reject this ideology. Enough is enough.
Trump says, “Get over it” when all these people die from gunshot wounds. Vance says, “Mass shootings are just a fact of life.” There is no way to spin this. Trump and Vance are just too weak to protect us.
That’s been the Republican response to shootings for as long as I can remember. They’ll point fingers at mental health or family but then vote against anything that would further these fields. They’ll never outright say it but they’re perfectly content with sacrificing school children every few weeks to keep their pro-gun votes and support flowing. Care for the kids my ass.
