Exactly. Where’s all the politicians and celebrities calling for him to step aside? Where’s the news headlines questioning his ability? They blasted Biden but they seem scared of Trump.
I work with some pretty heavy pro-Trump folks, and recently, the conversation about voting came up. They were very rudely and abbrasively asking everyone who they were voting for, and my quick response was, “Not the nearly 80 year old man.”
It was very cathartic after a full four years of hearing, “Bidens just too old to run!”
It’s because Trump gets to play by his own rules. The media is complicit in that. Everyone else gets held to the old standard, Trump gets held to “Trump being Trump”.
This is not a man who can be entrusted with the nuclear codes.
The mountain of coverage concerning Biden was based on fear that Biden couldn’t beat Trump. Fear of what would happen if Trump won again.
Pointing out Trump’s decline, on the other hand, is like an underline to the already myriad of reasons why most don’t want him to be POTUS again.
I read somewhere the double standard can best be described as comparing a clean shirt with one stain to a stained shirt with another stain. It’s easier to see the one stain on a clean shirt, but difficult to point out another stain on a heavily stained one.
Because the media is owned by billionaires, right wing assholes do not want ratings to drop, people watch Trump because he like driving by a car wreck, they just can’t look away. The orange demon gets ratings because half the country is dumb as hell

Democrats should be saying the same things tRump was claiming about Biden. Drug test him and independent cognitive testing.

Pretty simple. Covering Trumps cognitive decline means implying that he ever was mentally sound in the first place.
Just today again, he reiterated that schools are performing sex change operations on their students against their will. This is absolutely bat shit insane.

I’m convinced the media WANTS Trump for their bottom line. Doing “news” with Trump is cheap and profitable. There’s no investigative journalism and lengthy FOIA work that takes time and costs money, he commits his crimes in the open.
All they have to do is keep a camera on him, have social media interns keep tabs on everything, and bring dumb fuck talking heads on hour after hour to argue.
Sure, people have their PREFERRED news entertainment outlet and personalities, but at the end of the day it’s all rage watching. Pissed at what Trump said? Tune in for validation from our blue leaning talking heads? Pisses about what Pelosi said? Tune in for our rage inducing red rage mouth pieces. In between and on the bottom we will cut/paste the latest social media bullshit to fill in the gaps.

People like to pretend COVID happened to us, but Trump close the CDC pandemic prevention unit in 2018, and COVID showed up a year later.
