4. It’s a Shiite religious banner associated with the figure Imam Hossein and is generally for mourning during the month of Muharram. It is not a Hamas or ISIS flag as some have erroneously claimed online

10. I mean, the Paralympic committee even bans displaying of the Olympic rings, so it’s not a surprise they have an issue with this.

12. It’s a religious flag, but the rules are rules. Similarly [Manizha Talash was disqualified](https://www.cnn.com/2024/08/09/europe/paris-olympics-refugee-breaker-afghan-women-intl-latam-spt/index.html) from the breaking competition for wearing a cape with the words “Free Afghan Women”.
