Due to a new job I'll be moving to a new city, where fortunately it looks like I'll be able to snag an unfurnished room in a WG. I'll be moving out from a similar WG situation in my current city, as such I don't have a whole lot to bring with me, namely:

Cardboard folding bed; 90×200 mattress; linens; Ikea 140×60 table top and table legs; Ikea standing wardrobe.

Everything could probably fit in a Sprinter for a 3 hour trip spanning 270km (according to Google) but I don't have a drivers license or have many acquaintances I'd be willing to ask to help out, so I'd have to hire an Umzugsservice of some kind. Is it worth the hassle or am I better off just selling everything here and refurnishing everything in my new WG?

  1. It would seem that the value of the items listed is less than 500€. So even if you found someone who would rent a Sprinter and drive it for you, you would need to account for at least 7h (both trips + some extra time), you would probably pay at least 200€ (half for the Sprinter, half for the person), maybe even 250€. My question would be how much you would get for the stuff if you sold it, e.g., on Kleinanzeigen and bought it new in your new city.

And then weigh those against each other (also factor in time spent for selling the stuff on Kleinanzeigen, vs. time spent finding someone to rent and drive a Sprinter; convenience of moving everything with you and being able to sleep in your bed directly vs. having to buy your stuff, having it delivered, etc.)
