Hello! I am going to apply for the Working Holiday Program from Canada to Belgium but the first step seems a little vague to me.
This is the step.
**”1. A statement of intent**
Format: a short note stating the goals of your participation in the program, bearing your signature.
Subject: travel is the main purpose of the WHP.”
Now if anyone knows of what type of guideline I should follow for this letter, I would appreciate it. As in, what do I put down? How long should it be? What do I need to include?

Sounds to me like they want a one pager at most. Note that you want to visit Brussels, Ghent, Brugge, Ieper / Westhoek / Flanders fields, Ardennes, Mons, Charleroi, Leuven, … I’m sure you can Google most of the things you should visit here. Just giving some suggestions.
They’re not looking for anything too fancy – just a statement of interest. Max 1 page.
Since the whole point of a working holiday is to travel and be able to work in your chosen country, if it were me, I’d articulate what I’d want to do – not only travel, but how you want to develop personally and professionally – as well as contribute positively to the place while you’re here.
If you need help, there are plenty of examples of statements of interest online, but you can also do it in a high school essay format. Don’t overthink it too much, they’re not looking for proof that you know everything about Belgium already.
* How you discovered the program, why Belgium is the right fit for you.
* Reason #1
* Reason #2
* Reason #3
* In conclusion, please pick me.
