Was standing around yesterday waiting for a friend on the corner where Japan House is on Kensington High street and noticed fossils in the building wall. So cool and wanted to share. Anyone know anything about this? Where the stone is from etc?

  1. There’s 100s maybe 1000s of buildings in London that have fossils in their walls and floors. They’re normally made from a type of limestone called Portland Stone. The V&A and Economist Plaza are two of the best places for building fossils.

Here’s a map app for finding more and it shares stone info: https://www.londonpavementgeology.co.uk/
