  1. Citing the Pravda as a source for *anything* is one of those cynical jokes that the people of Russia will never get. Just like freedom of speech and real elections.

  2. > Ukraine stopped Russian prisoners of war from making calls to Russia; they are now only allowed to send letters.

I am astounded that they were EVER allowed to make calls to Russia. War is ongoing, voice/digital communication makes it too easy to send back intelligence.

  3. Boo hoo they can’t call home, we just saw what the Russian army does to soldiers surrendering, they should be glad they’re alive.

  4. Isn’t it good to call home? So that Russians know they kept them alive?

  5. Did Russia even let them call home before they were POWs? I feel like being captured by Ukraine may have made their life better.

  6. Red Cross barely even visits them, meanwhile in Ukraine the Russian pows are incredibly closely monitored, the ones from Kursk were allowed to call home the next day. Red Cross and other international orgs are a joke who have innocent blood on their hands through their refusal to hold Russia accountable for its thousands of war crimes beyond sending a bs sympathy tweet after another hospital is bombed or pow executed on camera.

  7. Russia tortures and executes Ukrainians: I sleep.

Ukrainians don’t allow Russians to call: REAL SHIT WTF IS GOING ON IMPOSSIBRU

  8. Honestly at this point if you told me that Nato forces were lining up Russian POWs into a firing line like the captured Nazi SS soldiers from Auschwitz I would just accept that they deserved it. The fact that they are being allowed to even contact home at all after what we have seen RU soldiers do to Ukrainan POWs is a testament to who the good guys are in this war.

  9. The lucky Ukrainian POWs that make it out alive from Russia look like skeletons

  10. Everybody has a plan untill they get taken as a POW.

  11. Yeah last I checked the Russian “army” was beheading and starving thier POWs. Sooooo

  12. vs getting tortured, raped, and killed as Ukrainian PoWs. oh whatever shall we do

  13. Good.

They should be glad Ukraine isn’t murdering them, like Russia is doing to some of its Ukrainian prisoners of war.

  14. I would think the way Putin is that Ukraine is doing them a favor I’m not letting him in on their location. It’s not beneath him Putin that is to bomb his own troops and blame it on ukrainians committing mass murder of unarmed prisoners. That’s the kind of s*** he drives on in his own country.

  15. How do letters get from Ukraine to Russia since the war? I cant imagine their postal offices working together.

  16. I don’t like this, but we did the same thing in WW2. The US kept German U-boat crews from phoning home in order to prevent Germany from realizing the US had their enigma cypher machines.

  17. Feels like a security move. Why would you let your enemy call the people you’re fighting in the middle of a war? It sucks but in the grand scheme of things…
