You can try looking online for better deals, but the reason why they’re expensive in the stores is because they have to order special shipments from overseas that only applies to a small niche of people, of course they’re going to raise the price. They’re selling an experience, not a product.
If you just want the product in cheaper and larger quantities, I would recommend try changing your habits while you’re here to a healthier and cheaper alternative. I don’t understand or support the American dessert breakfast culture.
Nowhere
Not in Finland
You can get sugar from any market at about 1€/kg and it’s basically the same thing.
It’s no human food.
I tried Google this and first hit was [https://www.fiksuruoka.fi/product/7378/reeses-puffs-muro-326g](https://www.fiksuruoka.fi/product/7378/reeses-puffs-muro-326g) 2 for 6.50€ so way more cheaper than in your picture, but they seem to be out of stock sadly.
If you want to order more you could consider ordering them online from germany. https://beastmode-germany.de/
Just an example, but will be on the expensive side regardless
try ordering from America
Why on earth would you want American cereal? It is unhealthy, sugary, and just kills you faster.
Im guessing if you really want sugar filled cereal you can probably find some less poisonous finnish version.
Do you know the k market chain?
Not there.
TIL people are willing to pay to get diabetes
Nowhere as far as I know. I’ve been looking for 10 years. For a while they had my favorite cereal which is Shredded Wheat and I guess it didn’t perform so well as they stopped selling it. I really dislike the cereal selection in Finland. It’s either super sugary and for children or for adults and tastes like cardboard. The one in between is Special K which is super sugary and for “adults”.
And yes, yes, people will say one shouldn’t eat cereal. Yet they eat porridge with enough butter/sugar/jam to make it as unhealthy as cereal if not worse.
The price is absurd. And those packets of Cheetos for 6€. Madness!
Well, Lidl has some fake versions sometimes. Today I saw definitely not lucky charms there.
In amerika.
“cereal”
Ask an American friend to ship you some cereal
With sugar tax being raised and this being an imported brand very few people buy, you can only expect the price to get higher.
Well this is really the cheapest it gets here when it comes to imported american cereal. You’re better off with just the average cereals you can find in every store, they’re cheaper and probably a lot healthier
In the USA?
Integrate and switch to porridge 😉
That is a dessert item.
Cini Minis are the European version of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, objectively the best cereal in existence. You can get Cini Minis at a regular price (even for cheap if you get the 1 kg megabox). Though I guess it might taste different than CTC since it contains less sugar.
I’d say America.
Try this for a secret life hack. Buy some general cereal and 1kg of sugar. Mix them together and boom: American cereal.
As an American I had forgotten those (Reese Puffs) existed.
If you really want, just come visit and take some home! Not the cheapest but definitely the most fun. Hit me up and I’ll show you around Seattle.
Seinäjoki?
Coming in tomorrow, what do you want
Note to self: When you travel to the EU bring black market cereal.
Why can’t you just buy cereals that aren’t American…
Buy Finnish ones and mix them with sugar at 1:1. Should be pretty close, I think.
There’s a couple “US style” cereals available in most Finnish grocery stores in the aisle with the rest. There’s Nesquick cereal, Oreo’s cereal and there’s Cinimini’s which are like Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
That’s the neat part: you don’t.
Everything that has to be imported is going to cost an arm and a leg.
You should not eat them.
* they are pricey – bad for your wallet
* they are full of sugar – bad for your body
* they are American – bad for supporting corporations
Switch to a healthy diet. Puuro is here for you. Puuro is good. Puuro is life.
Start liking corn flakes and rice crispies. You can get those for a reasonable price at most grocery stores.
Have a friend send it over as a gift/pay for shipping. Know anyone going to the US any time soon? Ask them to bring some back.
Maybe we can trade for something from Finland that I can’t get in the states ??
Man I wish we had a sugar tax, instead we have subsidies and high obesity rates!
There are plenty of American cereals at Prisma and Citymarket. Just the less common, less healthy ones are in the overpriced American section. Coco pops, Frosted flakes, Fruit Loops, etc. are like €3-€4 a box there, as well as Nestle like Nesquik and Oreo O’s. But still, yuk.
