  1. Transferred to Turkey in 2013, justice minister at that time was Annemie Turtelboom (Open VLD)

  2. Turkey does whatever tf they want. Are we still surprised about this? You can trust them as much as we can trust the Russian government.

  3. Als zij een psychopatische massamoordenaar in hun samenleving willen laten loslopen is dat hun probleem.

  4. Every prisoner has the right to ask to be transferred to the “home” country.

The main reason for such a transfer is the hope for a better regime in the “home” country.

A better regime in the meaning off: if you are transferred to your home country, you need to follow your home country’s rules.

Usually, every justice minister knows these rules, but it looks that the Belgian justice minister was again an exception to the rule.

The rule in Turkey is very clear: after 3 years of prison, you can ask for “freedom with restrictions.”

And that is what happened. The “freedom with restrictions” was in 2019 allowed.

In my opinion, you only can blame the Belgian justice department; they need to know the Turkish regulations.

Knowing that this could happen after 3 years in a Turkish prison, but still accepting the transfer, you can later not blame the Turkish law.

Not knowing the conditions of the transfer is also not an excuse.

BTW: the same rules are valid for Belgians who are in a foreign prison. They also can ask for a transfer to Belgium, hoping for better conditions.

  5. I only hope it´s not with belgian money, he is living the good live.

So he was 15 years in prison? Isn’t life in belgium 30 years and you can get out after 10?

  6. I am Turkish and I don’t get this after 3 year freedom with restrictions ruling, there are plenty of people in Turkey who are not eligible for that, this guy is no different even committed more cruel homicide crime. Since it became a huge story in Turkey today, soon it will be revealed.
Additionally, if Belgian justice would say to Turkish authorities, he is a known member of Kurdish movement, he would not be released at all, no matter what he did.

  7. Als brandweerman heb ik samen met een collega de eerste 2 vrouwen gevonden. De oproep kwam binnen als woningbrand.
