    1. Republicans are massive hypocrites, and have been for decades. So, they won’t care one iota that they just spent months screaming about how an old man can’t be president.
    2. Republican presidents don’t need to be in top mental health. The Republicans have one single platform: enrich the upper-class. That’s it. The other stuff is just how they trick voters into voting [to enrich the upper-class]. If Trump wins, the Republicans will immediately give trillions of dollars to the upper-class (like they did last time). Trump can be drooling all over himself, and he can still do that. So, not only do Republicans not care – it doesn’t even matter! Trump’s age and mental-acuity really is beside the point.
    3. The Democrats, on the other hand, are the only ones who actually have to govern. They have to be the adults in the room. And, as such, you can’t have a senile old man in-charge of the Democratic Party. They have important work to do. Work the other side either won’t do – or sabotages.

    So, yeah, that’s what no one’s getting about this. It’s a far bigger deal that Biden is senile than Trump is! Far bigger. Biden would actually have to govern, whereas Trump would only have to funnel massive amounts of money to the rich.

    Republican presidents can literally be brain-dead and still do their jobs. Democratic presidents can’t.

    And the Republicans don’t care.

It seems like every new day he’s saying something that doesn’t even make any sense, or shows his lack of self awareness, and yet there’s no political consequences, and yet when Biden showed his signs of cognitive decline it was 24/7 news cycle about his competence. The fact we don’t have the same kind of coverage about Trump’s mental state and decline is just infuriating. Republicans really do get a special set of rules for themselves.
