Tory leadership race: 1922 Committee chair announces results of first round of voting
Priti Patel has been knocked out of the race to succeed Rishi Sunak as Conservative party leader in the first round of MP voting.

Announcing the results, Bob Blackman, the chair of the Conservative 1922 Committee, said the next round of voting would take place on 10 September.
