According to this list it’s on there already at 30th spot.
Interesting to see an Australian hospital in there at 2.97B I wonder how that compares to the Children’s hospital
So it could have been cheaper to build a Burj Khalifa, and then convert it into a children’s hospital at a later date.
I know we have fucked the budget, but if anyone hasn’t seen the recent videos of inside/outside you should take a look. It is going to be a class facility.
Looks like we’re punching above our weight on the international stage again!
COYBIG!

A building that cost $115bn. BAM have a new ceiling to aim for.
These lists are daft click bait stuff.
Sure intel spent $17bn on the new and existing Fabs in Kildare and they’re not on it. I’m sure TMSC and Samsung would have similar sized facilities.
Unrelated but how a list of most expensive buildings *ever built* included the Venetian in Macao which is a copy of St Mark’s Square but not St Mark’s Square?
You are assuming that it will be finished.
I remember Moore St. fondly: “Burj Khalifas, get your Burj Khalifas here, 2 for 3 (billion)”.
Wow weird, I’m actually sitting in one of those buildings right now. Having a cocktail. No idea
In about 10 years the NCH will be a monument to how good and import State investment is according to many of the same cynics we get on here.
Why is it when we build something that people start to care about value for money?
It was in the top 10 for a while there in 2017 or 2018, but then the Finns decided to start building a massive nuclear power plant.
They will actually have to finish it first.
Royal Adelaide Hospital is the one to beat
So Mecca is work 115 billion? If that’s the case, the Vatican must be worth trillions, it’s filled with literally thousands of priceless art pieces, it’s bigger, in the middle of a European capital, etc.
Most expensive thing ever for a madey upey thing!! Yaaay.. go humans
I don’t think it fits the criteria of being built yet

Is there a similar chart for bike sheds?
Yes. The current estimated cost of around €2.2bn works out to $2.43bn putting it in 24th place.
I was promised it would be the most expensive hospital in the world.
Seems a waste spending that kind of money on a children’s hospital when we could have built a stadium or hotel for the same price.
