  1. if they wouldnt cost as much as an arm and a leg, that would be great

    i get the batteries are expensive,but com’on

2500 euros being an average price for an e-bike is too much

  2. Living in a very flat city, the idea of an electric bike seems rather ridiculous for a young male. However, having lived in a more hilly city for a short while, I absolutely understand the need if you want to use it for transport.

  3. Do Germans also have this attitude like people here: “why do you want to buy an e-bike, when you’re only 30”?

  4. Rode an E-bike for work for a couple of months, and I have to say that I’m surprised that these things don’t require any license to ride.

They can go up to 35 KPH within a couple of seconds and I’m kinda weary of more people of more people adopting these as a mode of transportation.

That being said, E-bikes are **incredibly** fun.

  5. I’m living in mostly hill city and i would love to have an e-bike. But because of being too tall for like every kind of sport equipment it was hard to even find a regular bicycle that would fit me. I was thinking of rebuilding mine into an e-bike (yknow, attaching motor-wheel and battery block) or maybe some manufacturer is brave enough to release an e-bike for tall people

  6. My father had an e bike mountain bike. Its so much fucking fun to go in the woods. It’s all the fun minus the struggle of going uphill.

  7. If it can make a car driver go from car to e-bike, then yes, it’s a relatively positive thing. However, in general, it just means more batteries and more load on the power grid.

If someone has a statistic showing conversion rates from car drivers to e-bikes VS cyclists to e-bikers, that would be very interesting.
