You guys might be interested to know that Transindex, one of the most popular Transylvanian Hungarians news site and the last major one whos news were not dictated by UDMR/Fidesz will close down. Staff will found a new site called Transtelex, which intend to support itself purely through ads and donations. UDMR-affiliated sites such as Főtér.ro have already begun denouncing the new site.
This is something Romanians should know about too regarding how Orbán and his laqueys dominate Transylvanian media, and why people from there overwhelmingly vote for Orbán in elections.
I am actually surprised to hear there was an indepedent outlet. I was under the impression they are all on Orban’s payroll.
I really hope these guys can make it, independent press is harder and harder to come by. We have the same problem in the Romanian press, most if not all are owned by people with political connections.

The reason is it’s ownership does fall within UDMR’s circle, specifically there’s a foundation called “Association for Transylvanian Media Space” which receives €20 million a year from the Hungarian governement, and according to the journalists they have been under uncreasing political pressure, [more info on this foundation here](https://atlatszo.ro/en/english/two-a-penny-5-million-euro-per-year-for-the-hungarian-language-media-trust-in-transylvania/).
