Russia’s war machine is running at full speed – German arms production is lagging behind: The manufacture of weapons in Russia is booming. In Germany OTOH it would take 100 years for sufficient quantities of some war equipment to be available again, warns a study by German economists.

Yeah maybe just invest 25000€ /piece glidebomb kits and some planes.
I for one am glad that Germany does not have a good weapons manufacturing industry. Never forget.
Prepare or perish
Duh. One country is on full war economy – the other one isnt
Someone did a long video about how germany in detail handles procurements for their armed forces….it was pretty horrible in tldr…and the current leadership in germany won the election on the agenda to make it worse.
Its amazing they have an army at all really.
100 years is excessive. If Germany wanted to they could be absolutely churning out military equipment in less than 10 years. Possibly even faster than that with the way Germany industry has shown in the past.
The complete study is available here, unfortunately only in German.

The Spiegel article is sensationalist (nothing new for this paper) in that it completely ignores the fact that
a) something has changed technologically and modern weapons are much more efficient (therefore less is needed) – the 2004 figures are therefore arbitrary
b) both production and orders can be increased if necessary.
The quoted 100 years to “replenish the reserves” results from the 2004 figures of 3000 howitzers compared to currently 120 in current orders.
It is true that German procurement policy is too short-sighted and assumes that everything will not be so bad. However, the example of Poland also shows that it can be done if you want to. And btw. next year there will be elections in Germany, the SPD and its anti-armament faction around the “pacifist” Mützenich will suffer a crushing defeat.
Germany’s defense policy continues to be freeloading off the US.
100 years lol good one

It can’t be Germany and the US. It appears little Denmark has done some heavy lifting, also the Baltic states because their survival depends on it.
Spain, Italy, Canada, Australia, etc. Portugal can do more than a tractor and helmets. Time to be a unified front. Now. Not in 2026. Now.
Bit sensationalist. This doesn’t seem to be equating to spectacular russian success.
If I were a propagandist, I’d still be pumping out these “RUSSIA IS STRONK AND INEVITABLE” stories, rather than focusing on their devastating losses and that their hand picked donkey candidate for US President is crashing and burning faster than a comet made of cream cheese entering the atmosphere.
This is just an article of BS.
