Hospitals are identifying too many diseases, watchdog warns.
Better to unnecessarily record trivial incidents than overlook serious ones.
I’m sure we end up with both happening, mind
>The report also criticised politicians for rushing to make statements that affected the public perception of police impartiality without having all the facts.
Damn right.

The very term ‘hate crime’ is laughable. All crime is hateful.
>The police are recording too many hate crime incidents and getting involved in disputes that include “hurt feelings”
>A sample review of 120 cases of non-crime incidents and hate crimes found that 30 should not have been recorded at all
When you start making laws against speech, this will inevitably happen. People are petty. Don’t like that somebody bested you in an argument, made you feel silly? Well it must be because they are one of the ‘ists or ‘phobes, give the coppers a buzz and tell them you were hate crimed, that’ll show ’em.
The watchdog should probably check out the home office counting rules then?
Yeah any report commissioned by Suella Braverman is basically toilet paper
And are you going to do anything about it? Those nuts are still waving Houthi flag and Hozballa Flag and Nazis flags, and you arrest a random Jews for being “Openly Jewish”.
I think that the main problem with the policing here is that the police are cowards. They even refer to an incident here in a bizarre way.
The head of Campaign Against Antisemitism went out of his synagogue wearing a kippah right where anti-israel protests were happening.
Instead of allowing him to walk around this protest while being visibly Jewish and then waiting for a crime to occur, the police simply stopped the visibly Jewish man and told him that he couldn’t be there because he was visibly Jewish.
Meanwhile, we’ve had people riding around Golders Green yelling “rape their daughters,” telling the police that they’re hunting Jews, and obviously supporting Hamas while the police do nothing.
So the police have been using a two tiered enforcement of the policy here. They’re letting support of proscribed terror organizations and declarations that people want to kill or rape Jews slide.
They’re arresting and stopping Jews for the crime of existing near people who want them to die.
The reason that they’re doing that is because there’s thousands of people supporting proscribed terror organizations and hate crimes, and it would be a nightmare to enforce the law. Plus they kind of agree with them.
But it’s easier to harass the Jewish people who might rile the crowd by breathing while the crowd doesn’t want them to.

Because the definition of a hate crime is now so broad, everything is considered a hate crime.
> They record and attend more of these incidents than they need to.
So that’s where they are.
There are a few issues here and the first on is the lack of peiples understanding of what is happening. There are 2 different things being discussed as though they are the same thing. Sonwhen the article uses phrases like “hate crine incident” they just perpetuate the confusion.
A ‘Hate Crime’ is where an actual crime has been committed that is motivated fully or partially due to someone’s protected characteristic.
A ‘Hate Incident’ (no crime needed) is where the someone perceived an incident happened and was motivated by hostility or prejudice. This was pushed heavily by Theresa May and is the biggest issue as it can result in police having to look into ‘hurt feelings’ on Facebook. The government could remove it overnight if they wanted to, but they won’t.
This isnt a police issue, its a political one.
