  25. The under sea cables were used prior to WW1 for communication between continents (phone). My Grandfather and Uncle worked on the CS Restorer which laid the cables in the Pacific. During WW2 the CS Restorer with my Uncle on board went to the South Pacific after the allies had pushed the Japanese back to repair the cable as the Japanese had spliced into it. In June 1942 the CS Restorer also was sent to Aleutian Islands as the Japanese was occupying them. Presently any cables that have been cut or damaged I have no doubt it was done by Russia.
