I’ve been very close to doing that myself. Chose the wrong time to move wallet between pockets and a card fell out on to the train floor, bounced out the door and landed on the platform thankfully.
Then I was trampled to death trying to pick it up 🙂

That’s happened to me twice. They will fetch it for you when it’s less busy and you go collect it.
Tube staff will take the piss, you tell them they’re effing legends so it goes…
