It’ll be my first time in Scotland. Does the red highlighted path in Pitlochry seem fine for a nice afternoon walk or am I setting myself up for a bad time? I know nothing about the terrain.

You will be fine it is a really nice walk and the scenery is stunning if I remember rightly there is no rough terrain it is mostly on the level 🙂
Here’s a report for half of it https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/perthshire/salmon-ladder.shtml
Yes looks nice, quite manageable and will be flat since you’re going round the loch. There’s a good chance you will have a nice afternoon and it will be great. Weather in Scotland is massively unpredictable though so you should be ready with suitable clothes or a plan b for if the afternoon is throwing rain down in buckets.
Komoot has that as Loch Faskally Loop from the looks of things and rates it as Intermediate.
1 out of 3 for technical difficulty and 2 out of 3 for fitness. Reckons it’s 4 hours.

Really lovely down there especially when the leaves change colour.
I’ve hiked the sequoias in California, and parts in between, but my favorite hike is still Pitlochry to Blair Atholl. There and back is a long, pleasant hike.
I walked the north and east half of that loop (coming down from Killiecrankie past Garry Bridge down to Pitlochry town centre and over the dam and salmon ladder) in March – it’s a very easy walk that any able-bodied person should be able to do.
The yellow dotted loop up to the Black Spout was also very manageable and well signposted as well by the way, and the waterfall a nice thing to take in
You’ve got your route well planned, but you might like to get a 1:25000 map as well so you can understand the landscape around you better.
Go walk the Green Lochain trail in Glenmore, if you’re up that way 🙂
Yes, it’s a lovely walk
The foot bridge at Garry bridge is closed but there is a short diversion up and over the railway line that takes you over the road bridge.
