  1. From the article: **Russia is yet to comment, but President Vladimir Putin has previously said such action could lead to** [**”very serious problems”**](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cn44r9zjnpjo)**.**

Since Putin is doing so poorly in his invasion of Ukraine, his threat of “very serious problems” may be increasing the frequency of asymmetrical warfare like hacking or send agents to do sabotages to US.

  2. This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/crrlg2xj5qno) reduced by 85%. (I’m a bot)

    > President Joe Biden has hinted at Washington lifting restrictions on Ukraine using US long-range missiles against Russia.

    > Since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the US has been reluctant to supply or sanction the use of weapons that could strike targets deep inside Russia, for fear it would escalate the conflict.

    > Russia's President Putin also warned earlier this year that attacks by Ukraine on Russia with Western missiles risked triggering a wider war.

  3. Balancing military aid with diplomatic efforts remains a key challenge for Western leaders.

  4. Ukraine has struck the Cremlin before, and it was 100% ineffective. This is not going to work, as Ukraine problems are the lack of troops and desertion, https://edition.cnn.com/2024/09/08/europe/ukraine-military-morale-desertion-intl-cmd/index.html , not weapons. This is just an attempt to force Russia to react in a way that gives NATO an excuse to attack Russia. It won’t work, as Putin has demonstrated to be way more cold blooded than western leaders (imagine how the USA would have reacted if Iraq, Lybia, Afghanistan reacted to their invasion by bombing US soil….).
Russia has never crossed NATO red lines. NATO is crossing red lines daily. If the positions were reversed we would be in the middle of a nuclear war with most European cities reduced to rubble.

  5. At a minimum, Ukraine should be able to target any base or military equipment in Russia that’s the origin of any attacks on Ukraine.
