  1. Glad you’re not injured. Best reporting it to police actually.
Also – What exactly did mechanic say? Have you sent film to insurers ?

  2. I hope you identify them OP, that could have been lethal for you. If you haven’t reported this to the police already make sure you do so – there is a chance they may be able to use their infrastructure to identify the van.

  3. thats a bit mad

on one hand your an unlucky bastard that got your car randomed by a boulder through no fault of your own

on the other hand it could have hit your windscreen and caused a serious accident

  4. Already contacted police and sent footage to them, not holding my breath that they’ll be able to identify the van. Spoke to insurance, they said its a write off, but going to take it to a mechanic for a 2nd opinion. I’m so grateful that only the front of my car was damaged and it didn’t hit the windscreen or god knows what might of happened.

  5. Glad you’re okay OP and please, please, please let it be a known company so you can take them to the fucking cleaners. Fancy owning a firm?

  6. Uploaded Video not high enough definition to see the name of company or reg. Perhaps the original hi defintion version downloaded from dash cam would show it better. Videos are normally compressed to a lower quality when uploaded online or downloaded wirelessly from the device

  7. Mate send this to the police, could a been killed by that, has the video been compressed and the proper copy you can see more useful details? There has to be some anpr/CCTV the cops have access to you can benifit from. Have you spoken to your insurer if the cars a write off, what’d they say?

You are really lucky it didn’t bounce differently so I would maybe take that as a blessing nd feel a bit fortunate.

I had what I thought was a minor accident with a tractor nd was annoyed my mirror was busted but my mechanic mate looked at the car and showed me how if the impact had been a few inches over I’d likely of died and suddenly the mirror didn’t really matter

  8. Damn this makes me want to buy a dashcam. Unlucky OP, hope you get it sorted quickly and smoothly.

  9. Looks like a morrow contracts van. i’m sure they are all tracked company vehicles so they should be able to see who was on that road at that time.

  10. Yikes if a biker rolled up later if that rock wasn’t removed

  11. Worth contacting the lorry company as well. Some companies fit dashcam to their lorries which may be better quality or if the van slowed down further up the road or took the same turn off as the lorry, they may have got a good look at it.

  12. Yeah that’s definitely Morrow Contracts, I recognise the logo

  13. Contact Barrett’s concrete – chances are their lorry will have a dashcam that will identify the van. Just a matter if they are happy to pass over footage to you but theyre sound people from what I know.

  14. Holy shit not even on 20 mins and folk have already identified the company. Good work detectives, impressive. Glad no one was hurt, hope you get things sorted and ain’t out of pocket.

  15. Pfft bitta motorway rock football never hurt anyone.

Here’s hoping you get sorted. Pain in the hole I’m sure

  16. Why the fuck do they have a boulder loose in the rear of their van anyway. That’s madness. Lucky someone wasn’t killed

  17. Ring the company immediately, not just the cops. They could be sound

  18. Been in a good few vans and it’s hard to imagine the driver wasn’t aware their door flew open after a few seconds, doesn’t look like it stops before a blind spot

  19. Is the original footage any clearer than what’s been uploaded here?

I could export a still frame and enlarge it but if the quality is no better than this then it’ll likely be of no use

  20. Jeez OP that’s so dangerous. I’m glad you’re okay.

  21. Given the quick flash of the brake lights, I’d be fairly sure the driver knew this happened and was contemplating stopping, then choose not to

100% Morrows Contracts, familiar with their vans. Usually stuck behind their lorrys doing 25 in a 60 on B roads with some geriatric driving it.

  22. I’ve had a branded work van hit me and drove away before when I had a dash cam, it didn’t pick up the number plate but it was enough to reach out to the company and show it to them. They paid for my car repairs so hopefully you get someone sound.

It might help to identify the make and model of the van, at least morrows can narrow it down a bit better if they use different vans, they should be serious about this as how deadly it could be.

  23. This sucks OP, what was the damage done out of interest?I think you were pretty lucky there

I had a truck wheel hit me in the m-way, that made a fair mess. It come off a low loader as I was coming by, managed to out brake it going up the front of the car but it hit the b pillar when it bounced off the central reservation
