    *Anti-immigration protesters waved Union Jack flags and sang Rule, Britannia as they moved through George Square on Saturday (7/9), targeting a popular pub on the square which managed to defiantly fend them off.*

    *Taking to Instagram, the pub encouraged its patrons to “stand in solidarity” against ‘fascists’, writing:*

    *“Earlier today a group of up to 40 right-wing ultras attempted to attack McChuills. They failed.*

    *“As ever, McChuills stands against fascists and racism in all its forms. This is a place where everyone is welcome, no matter who they support, who they love, who they worship or how they vote. With one exception, which we made very clear this afternoon.*

    *The pub also batted off a request for comment from one Sun journalist:*

  3. This article is a bit thin on information, what was spread by The Sun that caused them to attack the pub? What did they think was happening there?

  6. Politics Live had a Scum reporter on for discussions earlier today and I honestly don’t know how anyone can keep a straight face when they invite someone from that rag. They’re not journalists. They barely understand the concept. They think it’s there to fabricate stories or simply push often disproven stories because they’re contrarians. They appeal to a particular demographic that’s fairly gullible.

    Pretty awful the BBC invite anyone from it to be honest, without calling them out on everything they’ve done (incite violence, promote harmful narratives etc). Liverpool have the right approach, as does this pub.

  8. Wish a single mainstream politician had the honesty to speak truth to power and call out the Sun for what it is – instead they run scared of Murdoch. They could learn a thing or two from this pub.
