9. I fully believe him and Kate is a psychopath. Makes me sad that this poor kid can’t become a Marine like he dreamed of, but given his incredible amount of trauma he’s endured it might ultimately be the best thing for him. Being a Marine on the frontlines or a war comes with its own set of trauma. I sincerely hope he continues to heal and finds success and happiness.

10. God I watched it when airing and she was a nightmare. Not a huge positive opinion of Jon but the way everyone jumped on team Kate and shit was wild to me, she was a fucking monster. I’d read people saying “omfg I love this show because that’s exactly how my husband and I communicate” and I’m like well I feel bad for all ya’ll’s husband because if you consider SCREAMING at the top of your lungs at your husband like he’s a stray cat is not communication but abuse.

    But also with the kids she seemed to openly favor ones. One episode I remember being so mad at when it was airing was it was the older twins birthdays. They decorated to surprise them on their birthdays when they got home from school. One twin comes in and is happy. The other twin throws an absolute tantrum and it becomes all about how mad twin gets stressed after school and blah blah and Kate seemed irritated the other twin who liked it showed that she liked it. I was like wtf?

18. I completely believe it. I grew up in 8 foster homes where an adult was in charge of multiple kids and in every home there were 1 or 2 kids who got special abuse privileges while the other kids did not.

19. I’m not sure why but TLC had a chokehold on me when this show and the Duggars first aired. I could always tell Collin was singled out and given the brunt of the scolding. He was absolutely her whipping boy.

    When the Josh and Anna wedding episode aired on 19 Kids and Counting I got a really bad gut feeling that Josh was a bad person. That was when I stopped watching TLC altogether. It breaks my heart hearing the abuse his sisters endured and their parents made the decision to move forward with the tv show.

    Children cannot consent to reality tv. There are no protections for them. We are now hearing adult children (Collin, Jill, the Franke kids, Roloffs, etc) aging out and exposing the abuse. I was appalled when the Baldwin’s announced their reality show is filming. Those children have been exploited since birth. Legislation needs to catch up to protect these children.
