I've never been sick before so I have never been to a doctor my entire life (it's weird and uncommon I know but here we are so don't complain too much please). Apparently, I've had a ton of doctors listed as my stuckdoctor in the past, but accordion to my mother, they were her previous doctors. We are not sure why her stuckdoctors were listed as mine; even asked my dad who didn't know and was sad I didn't have any of his stuckdoctors.
But the strangest part of all is the fact that the last doctor listed as my stuckdoctor had this comment underneath: "Pasient har sagt fra seg sin rett til fastlege". Like what the… I was 15 and a patient? Back then I didn't even know I was a stuckdoctorpatient… so how could I even have canceled it? Whatever, I called the number for Helse Norge but the static was so loud. Tried again the next day and they said it will take a long time to get it renewed because the waiting lists are a wee bit too long (I checked legelisten.no which confirms this).
Anyway, I got injured at work last year and it's been getting worse this year. I asked NAV if they could help me get sickleave but they said I need a referral from a stuckdoctor (which isn't possible at this point). I've been taking it easy in the afternoons, eating healthier, tried some ibux, but the pain is too much nowadays. Don't think I should wait much more than a year to go to the doctor at this point.
Do you lads have any good ideas on what to do in this situation?

If you do not have a doctor you can call “legevakten” in your area, they will give you an appointment.
Here is the number: 116 117
You can go to dr. Dropin or other private doctors until you get a new fastlege. They can also do referals to the public health system. Costs a bit, but beats waiting months until you get help!
Are you able to sign in to helsenorge.no? Until I was 18 my fastlege (stuckdoctor I guess lol) was my mom’s and then I changed. You can use that website to assign you a new doctor but it may be a short process so you probably check someone private until then.
You can use Dr. Dropin or Volvat as a general physician in lack of fastlege (please use a different translation than stuckdoctor as that makes zero sense). They will charge you, but at least they can put you on sick leave. Generally Dr. Dropin will not give you more than a week at the time because they don’t have your health record – of course if you’re physically unable to work like missing two arms and half a lounge you might get a longer period right of the bat.
Keep calling Helse Norge and say you want your right to fastlege reinstated. The lines for the good doctors might be long, but if you live in a city of decent size it should be possible to get a doctor if any doctor will do.
Here you can see available general practitioners in your area [https://tjenester.helsenorge.no/bytte-fastlege](https://tjenester.helsenorge.no/bytte-fastlege) (or English version: [https://www.helsenorge.no/en/gp/](https://www.helsenorge.no/en/gp/) – OP is clearly able to use Norwegian in other posts, so no idea why OP didn’t write it in Norwegian at r/Norge, but that is OP’s choice), you can also log in and ask for a new general practitioner.
Children below 16 years old automatically get assigned the same fastlege as their mother, so that’s why.
Your parents could have chosen to use your father’s fastlege for you, but they would have to actively changed that.
Fastlege isn’t the only option to see a doctor, and a referral from fastlege isn’t the only one NAV will accept. They will accept a notice from any doctor, it’s just that fastlege is the most common and they might say fastlege interchangeable with lege.
Legevakt is for people without other options for care as well. Call them.
Don’t be young and dumb, and try to power through an injury until it hurts so much it’s impossible to avoid medical care anymore. That’s stupid, and you risk making the issue needlessly much worse, even chronic and lifelong if you’re unlucky.
There are thousands of general practitioners (English word for fastlege) without wait list, check someone else in your region and you should have one by next month.
Although, are you sure you dont have one? Are you a Norwegian citizen? I don’t think it’s possible to say you don’t want to have one…
No one’s gonna comment on translating “fastlege” to “stuckdoctor”?
Is no one going to comment on the notion that this person’s parents never took them for health check ups as a child?
Most county’s should have one fastlege with availability. Exceptions might occur. But it might not be the closest doctor. And you might check neighbouring counties as well.
However even if you do not have a fastlege, you can request an appointment at any doctors office, but they do prioritze their list compared to walk-ins. Some might have time for an appointment and followups.
You can always check the status of fastlege and who is your fastlege at [helsenorge.no](http://helsenorge.no)
The stuck doctor is only needed for pregnant women giving birth, they utilise many tools such as forceps to help a stuck baby be birthed. It’s probably why they were listed for you and your mum as technically you were both patients.
Stuckdoctor: Assist me patient, for I am stuck!
