With no option for family bundles this is extortionate for a 1 kilometre trail

  1. Extortion is taking money through force or threats.

    They’re forcing you to go?

  2. The bastards…they give a price option and leave it up to the individual to choose.
    What a shower

  3. Sure you could make your own trail in the local park, or that field at the back of the estate.

Rope in the neighbours, get them to dress up and jump out to scare the childers, rig up a few pumpkin lanterns, fill a barrel with the cheap sweets from Aldi, and you’re sorted. Save loads of money.

  4. That’s the first time I’ve ever seen (or noticed) child tickets being more expensive than an adult tickets.

Is that typical of “family friendly” events?

  5. Ireland is expensive for no good reason.
One cannot have a quality life and services at low to medium budget. And no, that is not a lot to ask.
Not asking for luxury, but quality.

  6. What’s the problem? It’s clearly aimed at kids. If it’s terrible then it’s terrible. If it’s good with actors etc then what do you expect?

  7. Was like that… Now? I simple refuse to pay for that.

  8. Dress the kids up to look like adults for a start caller.

  9. A few of the wealthier kids parents from the whatsapp group will go and it will snowball from there because of the pictures and kids talking in the playground etc. You can say “don’t go then” but there’s pressure on parents from kids. One of the parents will stay at home to save costs or parents will take some of the kids friends. But all the kids will be wanting to go. I’m just glad I don’t live near Malahide. Looks like boring shit. Expensive. The staff on minimum wage. The event organisers making a fortune. Gouge gouge gouge Celtic tiger/ were back babyyyy all over again. The resession can’t come soon enough! I hope the people that came up with this scam all get cancer.

  10. This country is such a fucking joke. You go to the continent (or even uk) and most events are cheap as shit or usually free. I hate that we don’t have to have any competition in this country it’s a free for all on prices and everyone just get screwed over. Despicable!!!!

More expensive for a fucking kid?! Wtf. Vote with your feet, don’t go and tag and share so that more people
Don’t go. Companies get away with extortion because we take it because there’s fuck all to do half the time so when there is people jump on it!

  11. The amount of overpriced junk that cowboys put on for families at the weekend in this country just goes to show that greed is alive and well in this country. Halloween brings all the ghouls out!

  12. It’s not a bad ticket price, the problem here is too many kids.

  13. They threw in the first “gentle fright” for free before you even check out, now that’s good value.

  14. Well maybe you should’ve kept it in your fucking pants then (only joking, that is an outrageous price).

  15. It’s not worth a €5. We went on the fairy trail. It was shit.

  16. Wait, adult tickets are *cheaper* than child tickets? That doesn’t look right…

If you contact them to confirm it’s a mistake it should knock €16 off. Probably still extortionate, but you’ll save something.

As others have said, you can always spend your money elsewhere.

  17. I was at their Easter event and it was extremely underwhelming

  18. do yourself a favour, dont look at the prices for santa experiences….

  19. I have never seen a child’s ticket that’s more expensive than the adult one!

  20. They did a Christmas garden/trail in same place this year with a Christmas market out front. The queues were absolutely massive to get into it and tickets were similar pricing. Organisers are raking it in.

  21. And 1.75 booking fee? Welcome to ripoff island, probably by the same crowd who opened leprechaun museum and other shitty tourist traps

  22. It was absolute rubbish last year. I doubt it will be better this year…

  23. Claim your kids are old than 13, fucking ridiculous charing more for kids in the first place.

  24. If this is the same crowd that do the ‘Lights’ trail at Christmas, walking around the grounds looking at *lights* for over a hundred Euro for a small family, then maybe don’t pay? Who the hell is dropping this type of cash on this?

  25. Hell, that’s more expensive than Bunratty even without buying a family bundle.

  26. Did something like this in marlay park last year and was around 5 euro per person. Actually was decent value for it.

  27. Is there an option not to go if I don’t like the price?
