Masses of dead fish blanket Greek port after flooding | DW News

Hundreds of thousands of dead fish have washed up on the shores of Pagasitikos Gulf in Greece over the last few days. As you’re about to see, the stretch of water with fish carcasses spans kilometers. According to experts, some freshwater fish do die here when currents pull them from nearby lakes into the Gulf’s salty water. Local residents say the stench is alarming. They fear it could impact their businesses that rely heavily on tourists. Local authorities have already cleaned up 40 tonnes of dead fish and are now investigating what caused them to die in such large numbers.

  3. I'm pleading you man make a 6 km ball and put it in the water and the humidity goes to the top of the ball and makes snow and drops the temperature in the water, that is what you need to do the reason why the volcanoes are erupting is because we need more mountains with snow on top of them to drop the temperature ,that is why the volcanoes are erupting

  4. They put something on the water, to kill the fish so that they can sell their lab fish to the population for the population to be sick and die, …. de population 2025

  5. The more mining industries remove minerals from under the ocean surface floor, the magma heat (1,860 Degree-Fahrenheit) is steadily increasing, causing the ocean water to heat up. The ocean floor is closer to the magma heat than land and mountainous areas! The earth's crust is very thin, and by extracting the 82 minerals the earth's crust is made up of, earth is heating up rapidly! These 82 minerals are a buffer barrier that keeps the magma heat from rising, and keeping temperatures cooler for ocean fish.

  6. they look like fresh water fish who can't survive in the ocean they need to investigate how the fish ended up in the salt water ?

  7. Your correspondent got it all wrong. The fish that spawned this spring were trapped in the flooded areas of lake Karla. Karla is am artificial lake that was created to cover the needs of farmers. As they were draining the waters from the flooded areas in order for the farmers to return to their land, the water levels dropped and the fish were dying from the lack of oxygen. Essentially they died a few kilometers away from the shores of Pagasitikos gulf way before they reached the sea. This is a phenomenon that occurs from time to time in the lake as the waters are stagnant and does not get fed with fresh waters from the near by rivers due to the ongoing drought. So yeah fish were dying in the past but it used to happen inside the reservoir and people couldn’t care less. Now that this thing has happened again but in a massive scale and the fish ended up at sea creating the huge problem it caught peoples attention.
