    You have compulsory military service for all men, from 165 to 347 days, and there is no alternative civilian service. And as I understood the Finns a few years ago, you are also considering extending compulsory military service to women.

    Finland is a frontline state, not only do you share a 1300-kilometre border with the Russians, but the Russians are also building new bases practically right on your doorstep, such as on Gogland, from where it is 113 km to Helsinki.
