A “dating recession” is leaving scars on the American economy

1. Dating, and much less having a home+family+kids, is less viable than ever before. Saying that “people can just fk at their parents house and raise a kid there because 3rd world people do it just fine” has already been said but it isnt solving anything.

   Politicians/people can moan about “people shortage” and be anti abortion, and anti immigration all they want, but scapegoats and excuses still arnt convincing women to reproduce.

   This isnt just a US problem. This is western world problem where having a home+family+kids is out of reach for more and more people. It all comes down to resources (money) that they younger generation have to achieve those goals.

3. Capitalists whine that there’s not enough babies and actively work to reduce the number of babies. Actions speak louder than words.

4. What a depressing read! It’s difficult to make friends as an adult and the article does highlight how much time Americans are spending alone. They describe everyone as being in a funk. I completely agree with that.
