1. An entirely intentional problem that isn’t a problem if you own a stake in private equity or insurance. 

   With insurance tied to employment and healthcare expenses inflated with administrative bloat and completely disconnected from the actual costs and healthcare services being sold off to private equity firms, the American healthcare industry is just another essential service turned over to the wealth extraction machines for the benefits of the stock market and shareholders.

   Americans pay more for worse outcomes for the benefit of investors and stock holders who dump all those gains into lobbying to maintain the status quo.

   It’s not that complicated.

2. How much of that debt is from preventable causes? Cigarette smokers who get lung cancer? People who don’t get screened for diabetes or colon cancer? People who allow HBP to get out of control? People who are obese? People who don’t go to the doctor because they don’t have insurance? People who are addicted to alcohol or drugs? People who generally don’t take care of themselves?
