They never talk about *how* they’re going to do this. You can’t just look at someone and know if they’re here illegally or not
Where is Governor Dewine? His Radio silence is defending. His job is to protect his citizens.
The stupid thing about this mass deportations is that it will tank farms and factories that are big supporters of Trump. They rely on undocumented workers and it’s insane they can’t see the logical outcome.

There’s not been one time that anyone has done mass deportation that history has looked back and said “wow that was a good and humane idea”
Here is what we learnt about Trump from the debate:
– He doesn’t have a plan on healthcare. He absolutely plans to get rid of Obamacare but has nothing but concepts to replace it with.
– He refused to say he’d veto a national abortion ban – means he’d sign a national abortion ban
– He refused to say he’d back Ukraine winning – his biggest concern was Russian deaths and is scared because Russia has nuclear weapons. The implication is exit from NATO and giving Ukraine and the eastern block to Russia.
– He has no idea how tariffs work and doesn’t realize that it’s a tax on Americans and totally proposes a massive regressive tax, as it’ll most hit middle class and lower income families more.
– He made no promises on middle class tax cuts
– He does have tax cuts for rich people
– He has no plan on Palestine
– He has no plan on global warming
– He doesn’t accept he lost the last election and doesn’t plan to accept this one
– He also didn’t deny he’d send people door to door to deport people, which likely means targeting non white people.
… the sum total of this is a massive increase in deficits and debts which he has no plans to close.
Outside the debate he has said:
– he’d eliminate the EPA
– he’d eliminate the department of education
– he’d use executive powers to reinterpret birthright citizenship to exclude people whose parents weren’t citizens
– he believes in unitary theory of the executive, ie. He thinks all agencies work for him and must do as he directs, including the justice department. He’s promised to aggressively prosecute people he views as enemies.

This man was vilified, branded as evil incarnate world wide, and now we have a man slowly exposing he’s following the exact same playbook, and our “advanced” civilization, the “leading first world country in the world”, cannot recognize the fact these two are eerily similar in mindset and ideology.

The resulting inflation from migrants being deported will be far and away worse than any pandemic inflation. The republicans love to say that migrants are taking American jobs, but more often than not it’s low-paying (or off-the-books) jobs in the agriculture sector that Americans don’t want.

For what it’s worth, his target figure is 21 million people. That’s the population of the greater NYC metro area, or Florida. Imagine deporting every soul in Florida, or turning NYC into a ghost town.
The news is covering this like it’s just a town in Ohio, or a suburb of Denver. That’s not what he is saying. He’s saying he is going to expel around 5% of the workforce, and he’s going to need another 2 to 3% to do it.
That’s going to lower US productivity a massive amount. It will be as if we are at war with ourselves. Actually, we will be at war with ourselves. There will be raids, checkpoints, prison camps, and eff’d up supply lines. There will be Great Depression level misery, and for what? Cats?
