US and UK delay Ukraine missile decision: What’s holding Kyiv’s allies back? | DW News

Ukraine’s calls for its allies to let it use long-range missiles to hit targets on Russian soil have gone unanswered once again.

That’s after British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and US President Joe Biden held talks in Washington, DC on support for Kyiv.

The UK has signaled that it wants to let Ukraine use its “Storm Shadow” missiles, which include US technology. But it apparently first wants permission from Washington.

This comes as the Kremlin ramps up threatening language over the use of Western weapons by Ukraine. Former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev said Russia could reduce Kyiv to a ‘giant melted spot’ with conventional weapons when its patience runs out.

  5. I have some respect for this woman because her analysis are in acorden with the situation in the ground. Nothing will make the difference In that war. The only solution is peace talks and some capitulation

  20. The Ukrainians could be living quite nicely now with neutrality. Much like they lived in 2014 before the American backed Maidan coup removing the democratically elected government.

  25. Why is nato not pressuring Canada to step up its resource development to eliminate any dependencies on China and Russia.     If Ukraine falls then the rest of Europe follows, country by country over the next few decades. Then they'll target the Americas.

    We can reduce Russia to its component states now, and, (most importantly), take out the dark-tetrad psychopath dictator who has caused global misery & mischief for decades.

    It's a no-brainer!

    Putin won't use nukes, he's a coward; dead man walking.

    And Xi has warned him not to, (he doesn't want to be toast in the collateral damage).

    But, it seems, that the biggest cowards are in the West!

    Meanwhile, Zelenskyy has to use a wheelbarrow to carry his testicles around!
