A new documentary series (2023) takes you on a mind blowing journey from Haugesund in Norway, all the way to Manhattan, via Shetland, Iceland, Greenland and Canada.
The captain and crew set out to demonstrate how the vikings might have travelled much further than we could imagine in a wooden vessel, 500 years prior to Columbus.

Where exactly was this picture taken?
While this is cool, demonstrating early trans Atlantic voyages is something that many Norwegians will know about because of Thor Heyerdahl who traveled from Egypt to Barbados in a reed ship in 1970.
