    I’ve seen that poster a few days ago (I live in Rome), the thing that pissed me off most is seeing the City Administration logo on the bottom right corner (hope it’s just a rip-off).
    Russia may not be our enemy, but Russia keeps repeating we are their enemies.

    Sovranita’ Popolare, seems to be a left-wing populist organization with a clear anti-west narrative and a strange faith in Russia as a “pacific nation that is opposing an imperialistic war waged by the west”. One of their writers, a guy named Vladimir Korozin, wrote:

    It is quite ironic and lacking in any awareness the first comment under the [Sovranita’ Popolare article](https://www.sovranitapopolare.org/2024/09/12/pace-nonviolenza-obiezione-neutralita-3/):

    A piece from [l’Antidiplomatico](https://www.lantidiplomatico.it/), probably written by one of the author of this manifest, claims that:

    >The initiative was by a group of citizens, not belonging to a political party, peace activists, who joined together for the sole purpose of having the posters printed and obtaining the standard authorizations to have them put up, taxing themselves. […]

    Yet, the collection of donations for the posters took place publicly in Rome at the Città dell’Altra Economia and the posting is publicized by various non-partisan pacifist associations that have always activated initiatives against war and discrimination, without having had any contact with Russian institutions.

    Not only that: these small spaces of discussion, very moderate, host public cultural initiatives and pro-Palestine signature collections.

    So no arrogant propaganda. Only a gesture of solidarity and relaxation that concerns Italian, Roman citizens, and that no interference should have the audacity, the arrogance, to question.

    Notice that l’Antidiplomatico is a left-wing “news” website with a quite evident pro-Russia [[*](https://www.lantidiplomatico.it/news-dalla__russia/40832/#)] and anti-west bias, that claims in his about section:

  29. I think it is a local initiative of an unknown party with at most a hundred members. There are certainly historical political ties with Russia stemming from the old Italian Communist Party, but I don’t think they will have much influence. Probably nowadays, business ties (now partially lost) for gas and tourism count more. Let’s not forget, however, that Italy not only donated arms but also welcomed hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians. I personally have seen several families settle here. With difficulty they have found a home, work and their children go to school. They are integrating fast! 

  31. And this is happening while Russians are killing Ukrainian civilians AND WE KNOW ABOUT IT. Imagine what kind of propaganda starts if Russia would conquer some parts of Ukraine and suddenly all we would hear from those parts would be nice rural people who would, with just a slight Ural accent, explain to us that they are born Ukrainians who are very happy in Russia and that Russians never killed a single living being.

  42. The idiots that wrote this billboard always quote Article 11 of the Constitution but they always omit the second part.

    They quote the “Italy rejects war” part. Nobody then keeps going with the other part of the sentence which is “as an instrument of aggression against the freedom of other peoples and as a means for the settlement of international disputes.” and this angers me. A lot.

  43. I think instead of removing these posters we should add pictures of the tortured corpses from Bucha with “This is how peace with Russia looks like”.
