Crisis at Jewish Chronicle as stories based on ‘wild fabrications’ are withdrawn

1. This has been my complaint about the Chronicle since the Corbyn years. It gets a pass on being a crappily-run right-wing mouthpiece because its seen by most people as specialist and niche.

2. The Crisis being that without spurious stories based on lies, the Jewish Chronicle has nothing to fill its articles with?

3. Good to see that they’ve been called out, but they’re hardly the only purveyors of bollocks here. The amount of silly sausages who think UNWRA is a terrorist outfit is insane, and the myth owes its origins to some top-tier Jewish Chronicle-style reporting.

   so its just the articles by a single reporter that have been withdrawn. tbh, the example they give from the “fantastic series of claims” seemed fairly tame, no worse than the sort of war speculation that the sun/mirror/mail dress up as news. i appreciate thats setting the bar fairly low. anyway, makes you wonder how stupid the israeli intlelligence / the jc are, to think it would pass unnoticed.

6. I haven’t checked but wonder if this is the same guy who was sourcing a lot of BS news immediately after October 7th who was featured in an excellent Al Jazeera docu about a year ago.

7. Not surprising, they’ve been sued for libel so many times I’m not sure how they’re still going.
