Hey! I have lived 3 years in Finland in the past and fell in love with these. Anyone could kindly share a homemade recipe please? I’d like to make them at home.

I know I can buy them at Ikea but I really love cooking so I'd like to make them myself
**SAUCE:**
1 dl strong mustard
3/4 dl sugar
20 white peppercorns, coarsely crushed
1 tsp distilled vinegar
2 tsp white wine vinegar
1 dl oil
1/2 dl water (or cream)
Clean the herring (soak to remove excess salt if it’s not lightly salted), and cut into bite-sized pieces.
Mix the vinegars, sugar, spices, mustard, and finally the oil, pouring it in a thin stream while mixing well. Add the water last. Layer thinly sliced red onion rings, herring, and sauce in a jar. Store in a cool place.
Probably not the best thing g to say in a Finland forum, but I think IKEA might sell something similar in their food market
Step one: drive to any IKEA nearby to wherever you are.
Step two: go to the food market (after the cash desks) and buy a jar of mustard herrings (sic!)
There you go – Sinappisilli in two easy steps!
1. Catch a nasty, slimey fish from your local river (heavily polluted is preferable).
2. Feed your dog (or even better, a stray dog) copious amounts of expired mustard.
3. Have the dog be sick all over the fish (fish should be dead, maybe remove its guts if you’re picky eater).
