But that’s not how the politicians work, if they tax the corporations who will give them the fake jobs at inflated salaries.
Bumper profits in 2021, however that was after bumper losses the previous year.

Windfall taxes generally just aren’t a great idea normally but if I ever seen a use for them it’s the current scenario. It’s the only good way to dramatically subside the energy cost rise
I’ve never understood why lefties and labour support corporation tax – it seems like playing into the billionaires’ agenda.
If you tax corporate profits them, yes, you do tax rich people, but you also tax ordinary people – via their ISAs, SIPPs and workplace pensions.
If you tax billionaires then you *just tax billionaires*.
To my mind it seems far more efficient to tax only the thing that’s the problem, and that you want to tax, than to cause collateral damage by taxing also a bunch of tangentially related things.
Past 5 year their tax has been -54% effectively we’ve been paying them.
Fuck the Tory gov. Up their collective arse with an unlubed broom stick.
