Are dragon flys common in Belgium? It’s my 4th time seeing one by FluffyDevil_ Tags:belgium 8 comments Yes, they are. we call them Libellen (plural) or Libel (Singular) yes, about 47 different ones. common near water as they are food farms for them. I live slap-bang in the middle of BXL. I sometimes get them on my terrace. Not that often, but still. Is it a Belgian thing? I thought they were common eveywhere Quite a few along the day, from small to big; red, blue and green. Because of the pond … They will disappear slowly with the lower temperatures. But it’s a joy to see them during the summer. https://preview.redd.it/g26ueza618pd1.jpeg?width=2160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=245924f5193424facd9e12044f1a85c15d26122d Had one fly in to my house just a couple of weeks ago. Have loads of them in my garden Yes, and very useful, as they eat horseflies and musquitos Yeah it seems to have been a pretty bumper year for them because of how wet it was followed by the long period of warm, dry weather. It’s been nice seeing so many this year compared to previous years. Hopefully will result in even more next year too. Leave a ReplyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
