> “Whether it was good news, bad news, scary news, dinner was family time. ‘How was school?’ They sat at the head next to each other,” Will, 32, said. “My mom would feed him and herself. We had friends dropping by. It was a very happy, robust, loud — everything you would want from a family dinner.”
> “That was every night, and the one thing you weren’t allowed to talk about was specific medical stuff. It could be anything else,” he added.
No horses at the dinner table…
I can’t fathom losing two parents by age 17. I continue to wish him the very best
I thought it would be “don’t ask to pass the salt”. Pleasantly surprised it was more than that.
His name is Will it wasn’t in his son’s will. Okay I get it now
Christopher Reeve’s daughter looks so much like him.
Wonder what he thinks of Eminem continuing to make fun of his dad on his new album. I think it’s disgusting.
Damn why wasn’t that dude the new superman!?
The fate of Christopher Reeves proves there is no god.
I cared for my dad, he had muscular dystrophy. He was also quadriplegic. You’d think it’s a pain in the ass to feed someone while you’re eating but let me tell you, for me it was the best of times. We didn’t have anything we couldn’t talk about though. But yeah we never felt the need to go into medical stuff – at least other than reminders for appts or something.
Caring for a loved one is a lot of work, but we found it to be the most rewarding. I’d give everything I own to be able to do that again.
Helmets and seat belts?
No heat vision at the table.
We had a similar rule, “no horseplay at the table.”
No Eminem songs?
Will is good people. And a really solid network journalist. Good to see he and his siblings thriving after surviving so much tragedy.
Commas are important. Use them.
