Hello!
I am pleading g for all the possible tips and experiences from those who have passed YO exams.
About my story, I came to Finland two years ago and currently studying in Finnish highschool.
I have a decent Finnish skills which could get me grade 7 in Finnish and on average of 8-9 in other subjects. I will start taking English-YO coming summer and I am aim for at least M in Finnish as well as Biology and L in rest so that I can be accepted to my dream uni safe and sound.

I am doing past papers for English but still lost in other subjects.

I would Iike to know:
What is the stereotype of YO?
Which kind of tasks and thinking would benefit me in YO?
How to prepare and study Biology, Chemistry and Physics for Yo?
What would be the main focus for the exam?
Any tips and tricks?

Please lend me a few seconds of yours and help me prepare for my life changing process.

  1. I did the physics and chemistry yo exams a few years ago. Start studying well in advance, I would say 3 months before the exams if you’re going for L. Btw, only 5% of people get L from yo exams so it’s gonna be difficult to do. Don’t beat yourself up if that doesn’t happen and have a backup plan.

    Make a schedule about what you’re going to study each day. Try to find a method of studying that works for you, whether it’s taking notes or watching videos or whatever. For Finnish, try to incorporate it into your everyday life as best as you can.

    If you want, I can tell you more about the physics and chemistry exams. You should also ask your teachers about them.
