Would be lovely there today listening to the wind and rain, having the craic with your friends over a few cold pints
That’s some dodgy wiring.
How about a No-Moan Friday every week?
Lovely pic btw
I can feel the Guinness in my hand looking at that picture
Where is the country is this gem?
Fireside Guinness with a bit of trad going on in the corner.
Is it weird to say that I can smell that picture?
Good old Catharlai MacDathai. Irish me hole. Where’s Bosco when you need a good dose of Irish optimism
Is that a pub in Westport? Looks very warm.
Where is this? I need to go there
A few hot whiskeys while the wind howls and the rain lashes….
The sound of the fridge kicking back into action after a power cut.
The kettle was hoppin’.
Great start to the lá!
I once shifted a fine lass by that green door. Dropped the hand and everything.
I like that sitting by a fire in a modestly decorated room is still a view of paradise in ireland. It’s not some perfectly white mansion with a two story high glass wall facing a crystalline blue sea under a cloudless sky. Just like, indoors. Warm on a stool talking shite. It’s a temple to chat.
One of my favourite memories was boating up the Shannon with my friend’s family. One night, we stopped off at this little port town and spent the evening at a pub like that. The barman called last orders and all the auld lads invited us to stay for a lock-in. Window shades go down and everyone lights up their cigarettes and enjoys a few more pints by the fire. I was about 23 at the time and this was long after the indoor smoking ban so it was so nice to be able to experience a proper Irish pub the way it was made to be experienced. For the life of me, I can’t remember the pub name or town but that just makes the memory more special.
Just got a Tesco delivery (fair play to the poor driver, I booked this on Tuesday), and am planning a fried rasher and egg toastie with Brennans and Kerrygold and a nice cup of tea (Barry’s, with a splash of Glenisk whole organic milk). The actual luxury of it all. Where in the world would you get the like only here?
Amazingly I feel like I can smell that picture.. its lovely
I can smell this picture in the best way, the tangy smoky scent of the fire, the warm woody smell of the table and chairs.
I can smell the Guinness looking at that picture.
Ah lovely
I’m from the states but spent some time in Ireland. Every day I dream of all the little corners like this that I got to enjoy in Ireland. Things here just aren’t as cosy and you all are very lucky to enjoy them anytime you want!
I smell peat!
It’s the smell of the turf on a damp, wintery day.
