‘Very dangerous’ British prisoner among five to escape high-security prison in Portugal

A “very dangerous” British prisoner is among five inmates who have escaped from a high-security prison in Portugal.

Mark Cameron Roscaleer, 39, had been serving a nine-year sentence for kidnap and robbery at the Vale de Judeus jail, about 43 miles (70km) north of Lisbon.

The five men, aged between 33 and 61, received “external help” from accomplices who provided a ladder which “allowed the inmates to scale the wall”, according to the Portuguese prison service (DGRSP).

  9. We drove from vale de judeus after 14. Had 2 long coffee breaks to Spanish border. 2 km from border the police started! block the road, to check all cars.. like they counted average speed, their siesta… and than made this checkpoint.🤦🏽‍♀️

    So terrible badly managed by portugal!!

  19. For torture and kidnapping 9 years! Countries losing to the USA and China don't even have the money to lock them up for the sentence. I wonder how many times more he did torture and kidnap before the law decided to spare some money to lock him up.
