  1. Thomas Müller? Can’t really say much about players pre 2005

  2. I go with Neuer here

You need an insanely good understanding of the game to play this high up the pitch and know exactly when you have to go for the ball or when you have to track back.

In addition to that, situations like him already running to the sideline few seconds before the ball goes out so he can make the throw in to keep the game going also show that he is a very smart footballer.

  3. There’s only one answer to that question for me: Thomas Müller!

His game IQ is the stuff of legends and even got EA to say, that they boosted a lot of his stats higher, than they should be according to their data, because he was a lot worse in the game, than he is in real life. The way he plays and his genius can not be captured by a simple football game, he’s just that good and unique.

  4. It’s as if the creator of this chart wanted to make sure Thomas Müller makes it in there. No brainer.

  5. Lahm, Pep Guardiola himself said that he is the most intelligent player he has coached. Not to mention he has coached Messi, Xavi, Iniseta and Muller.

  6. Lahm deserves a shout too. I feel like Guardiola said it about multiple players, but him calling Lahm the most intelligent player he ever trained should be worth something

  7. Thomas Müller. You don’t become the Raumdeuter for no reason.

  8. Definitely Müller, a bit sad realizing Thiago probably won’t make the list 🙁

  9. Overall speaking I would pick lahm but when we talk about attacking then Müller
