***The Telegraph reports:***
Sue Gray, Sir Keir Starmer’s chief of staff, is paid more than the Prime Minister himself, it has emerged.
Ms Gray asked for and has been given a salary of £170,000, meaning she is on £3,000 more than Sir Keir.
The former senior civil servant has great influence in her Downing Street role and called a number of new ministers directly to inform them they had been appointed to the Government frontbench.
The revelations about her salary, first reported by the BBC, led to questions about the balance of power in Sir Keir’s No 10, with multiple advisers claiming she is an “extremely powerful” chief of staff.

I really need to get off my arse and head an enquiry that helps Labour.
[Here’s a somewhat relevant tweet from Kier in 2001](https://x.com/Keir_Starmer/status/1367809830044467206). Now keep in mind she’s on 25K more than cummings.
Suddenly the media care what people are getting paid.
Sunak was buying himself a new £40 million helicopter, Starmer cancelled it and saved £40 million but nada. Media and the Tories ignore it, pretend everything was fine until Labour took over.
Is it possible that politicians aren’t paid well and that’s why we have such poor politicians
Back in 2010…..”**More than 9,000 public sector employees are earning a higher wage than the prime minister**, who has previously questioned pay levels in top jobs”

£170k is peanuts for this job. The salary is a none story. The real story is how someone who investigated the previous government is now basically number two. That’s the story
Apparently it was suggested she take a £10k pay cut to avoid this scenario but she declined.
My boss gets paid about that and he has it relatively easy. This is a massive responsibility. It also doesn’t include the myriad of privileges a minister gets.
Get this right wing propaganda out of here.
